About Picker Wheel
Making decisions fun since 2026
Picker Wheel is a free online spin-the-wheel tool that helps you make random, fair choices in seconds. Type in your options, give the wheel a spin, and let chance decide.
Why we built it
Everyone faces small decisions all day — where to eat, who goes first, which task to tackle, which name to draw. Picker Wheel takes the pressure out of choosing by making it random, visual and fun. No accounts, no downloads: everything runs right in your browser.
What you can do
- Build a custom wheel from any list of choices.
- Pick random numbers, letters, dates, colors and images.
- Split people into fair random teams.
- Spin country, US-state, MLB, NBA, NFL and national soccer wheels — with real flags and logos.
- Play the world flag quiz.
- Use Elimination and Accumulation modes for tournaments and tallies.
- Save, share, and embed your wheels.
Who uses it
The biggest group by far is teachers. A wheel of names takes the sting out of cold calling — nobody feels singled out, because the wheel picked them. The same wheel splits a class into groups without the usual negotiation, and Elimination mode works through a list of presenters without anyone being forgotten.
Beyond the classroom, people use it to run giveaways where the draw has to look fair to an audience, to settle what a family watches or eats, to pick the order of players in a game night, and to break ties in meetings that have gone on too long. Streamers put it on screen because a spinning wheel is more interesting to watch than someone thinking.
How it works
Every spin draws a fresh random result using your browser's own random number generator. Each visible entry has an equal chance, or a proportional chance if you turn on weights. The animation is just presentation — the winner is chosen first, then the wheel travels to it.
One consequence surprises people: in Normal mode the same entry can win several times in a row. That is not a fault. The wheel has no memory, so each spin is independent — exactly as it would be with a real one. If you want results without repeats, that is what Elimination mode is for.
Private by design
Your entries live only in your browser. They are never uploaded to us, and we could not read them if we wanted to — there is no account system and no database of wheels. Clearing your browser data deletes them, which is why the File menu lets you download a wheel as a file.
The Site is kept free through advertising. We have deliberately ruled out the formats that pay best — pop-ups, forced redirects, auto-playing sound and ads disguised as results — because the Site is used in classrooms and those would make it unusable there. See the Advertising Disclosure for exactly how that works, and the Privacy Policy for what is and is not collected.
What we care about
- Fairness you can explain. If someone asks whether a draw was rigged, you should be able to answer honestly. The odds are plain, and weights are visible on the wheel itself.
- No account walls. Every tool works on the first visit, with nothing to sign up for and nothing to install.
- Usable by more people. The wheel spins from the keyboard, results are announced as real text for screen readers, and motion and sound can both be turned off. The Accessibility Statement is honest about what still needs work.
- Works in your language. The interface and the site content are available in twelve languages, switchable from the header.
